What Makes you Special?

Are you special?

Well, I guess that depends on who you ask and what persepctive they are answering the question from. If we look at it statistically like Neil deGrasse Tyson does, then, well... nope.

But, that is an answer that doesn't come from a human point of view. We all experience life in a personal and connected way. Every day, there are things that happen that stand out to us or relationships we have that are incredibly meaningful. Are these experiences not special?

While believing you are special can reinforce congative biases that can lead to doing bad science. For those of us in the arts or honestly, just anyone trying to live a more full life, believing you are special, is a game changer.

It gives you purpose, motivation, and hope for the adventure ahead of you.
I don't know about you, but anything that helps me keep going through those really low moments is worth more than gold.
